Strategic Planning
No two engagements look exactly alike, but we've learned there are some elements that add real value across our clients. We scope in what's relevant to you, meeting your organization where it's at.
ASSESSMENT & FOUNDATION
• Conduct internal discovery with your team to surface strengths, gaps, and priorities across each vertical. • Deliver an external environmental scan, including market conditions, competitive positioning, and emerging trends relevant to your sector. • Facilitate stakeholder engagement, including customer validation, listening sessions, and surveys — using an OCAP-informed approach where Indigenous communities are involved, and an ARAO (anti-racist, anti-oppressive) lens for youth and equity-deserving groups. • Design, deploy, and analyze surveys to bring structured, quantifiable data into the discovery process. • Synthesize discovery and stakeholder findings into a succinct brief for leadership reference. • Facilitate a rich presentation for the core team, pairing data with real clips from stakeholder sessions, to bring voice of the stakeholder to organizational leaders (not just a summary of them). • Facilitate sessions with the executive team and board to confirm mission, vision, and values.
STRATEGY DESIGN
• Facilitate workshops with the executive team and board — virtual or in person — to align on strategic imperatives, enterprise risk, and financial and brand considerations. • Work directly with directors and department leads to translate imperatives into strategies and metrics grounded in operational reality. • Pressure-test strategies across verticals to surface dependencies and set clear lines of communication between leaders. • Define measurable KPIs, budgetary requirements, and roles and responsibilities for each strategic priority. • Prepare a final strategic plan package: one-page summary, critical path, reporting dashboard, and roll-up rubrics.
IMPLEMENTATION
• Work with leadership to build the operational roadmap that puts the strategic plan into motion. • Provide management oversight and accountability structures to keep implementation on track. • Work closely with your internal finance team to ensure the implementation can stand up to budgetary constraints. • For charities and nonprofits, support the design of your funding roadmap and case for support to engage funders in the future of the organization. • Build leadership capacity to run the plan day to day: tactics, timelines, and coaching key directors on ways to hold their teams accountable and keep regular reporting flowing to every level of governance.
