CASE STUDY:LUNUM

Expand DEI measurements to create workforce impact.

Meet Lunum

Lunum's products and services are a great fit for organizations dealing with intricate supply chains and looking to make a positive impact through transformation. Using the Harvard Business School's Impact-Weighted Accounting Initiative, Lunum gauges the overall value of your business activities with 12 new key performance indicators (KPIs) specifically centered around diversity, equity, and inclusion impact for all the workforces on your profit and loss statement.

The challenge: mechanizing the building blocks that drive revenue

The journey from ideation to generating initial revenue can be intimidating, and at times, overwhelming: there are so many moving parts that need to come together like puzzle pieces in order to kickstart momentum. Lunum needed expert guidance and support to transform what was still just a vision into a fully operational, successful, revenue-driving business.

CASE STUDY: ROSES SOUTHWEST PAPERS

From High Turnover to Lasting Growth at Roses Southwest.

Meet Roses Southwest Papers

Roses Southwest, a minority-owned, U.S.-based family business produces over 3 million cases of paper goods annually. Like many manufacturers, they faced post-pandemic challenges - high turnover, onboarding gaps, and limited diversity on the production floor.

In partnership with Mightyhum and Jill Miller, founder of Lunum, Roses redesigned their people systems to improve retention, diversify hiring, and drive measurable growth. Using Lunum as a verification standard for Employment Impact, the team ensured that changes were not only trackable, but transparent.

The challenge: employee turnover and inefficiency

Like many manufacturers, they faced post-pandemic:

  • High turnover within the first 90–120 days

  • Supervisors filling staffing gaps, which strains morale and productivity

  • Manual recruitment processes with low-quality applicant pools

  •  Women are nearly absent from operator roles

  • Communication gaps between the floor, HR, and leadership

The company's inability to attract and retain talented employees was a serious issue impacting overall operational efficiency.

Finding the hum

Mightyhum supported Roses Southwest with organizational transformation strategies intended to increase productivity, efficiency, and employee satisfaction. Co-led by a task force of Roses leads and Mightyhum facilitators, we structured the rebuild of a retention strategy, and people training and development programs all wrapped around change management supporting processes.

This wasn’t an outside-in solution. It was a collaborative effort, with HR, operators, and floor leaders working together to develop systems that suit their reality. We concentrated on the most important performance drivers: visibility, clarity, and feedback loops, all achieved without adding bureaucracy.

CASE STUDY:BREEDLOVE

Better Decisions -> Stronger Businesses -> Healthier Communities.

Meet Breedlove

The Breedlove Accelerator is an initiative by YWCA Metropolitan Chicago that aims to strengthen main-street businesses and the communities they serve. In 2022, after YWCA lost its implementation partner, Mightyhum and Below the Line partnered with YWCA to develop and oversee the program, supporting women of color leading main-street companies. The 12-week accelerator combines curriculum, weekly coaching, advisor access, and guest speakers, focusing on a five-year goal of generating $50 million in new revenue and creating 1,000 jobs.

The challenge: creating access for, educating, and inspiring a community

Breedlove’s 12-week long accelerator program is designed to empower women of color entrepreneurs who are the majority owners of their businesses. One week before launching their second cohort, Breedlove’s accelerator partner pulled out of the program - leaving the YWCA without a curriculum, facilitators, or any speakers.

Finding the hum

We partnered with Below the Line to define the vision for the Breedlove accelerator program. Together, we crafted a powerhouse strategy, designed a dynamic 12-week curriculum featuring impactful speakers, coaching and experiential learning. We established the operating rhythm and measured outcomes - providing clear signals and tangible results leaders can track.

Meet FrontLobby

FrontLobby is on a mission to improve the rental industry for everyone involved in it, striving towards a win-win scenario where both Housing Providers and Renters can prosper. FrontLobby’s platform makes reporting and screening both accessible and affordable for everyone.

The challenge: building the foundations to support growth

With a robust team of 15+ and backed by solid funding, FrontLobby was well-positioned for growth. With 35,000+ housing providers and 1,000,000 rental units already under their wing, FrontLobby needed to find a way to be efficient and minimize organizational chaos while navigating expansion.

Finding the hum

To kick things off, we worked with FrontLobby to find their organizational heartbeat. We did this by establishing systems and rituals to get (and keep) everyone on the same page, bringing employees together with a shared vision and increasing leadership accountability.
